Booz Allen Hamilton Inc

Summer Games Intern

June - August 2018 • San Diego, CA

What I liked

A very supportive learning environment with a heavy emphasis on collaboration. I had the opportunity to work on an intensive project with a team of interns and met with senior leadership on a regular basis. I really liked how the internship wasn't catered to a specific major and welcomed students from any background.

What I wish was different

Nothing.

Advice

Good speaking and presentation skills are almost essential to any job today. Being able to present your work in a confident, clear manner will go a long way.

Cyber Threat Analyst

June - August 2018 • McLean, VA

What I liked

Everyone that I worked with either directly or indirectly was extremely helpful and cared about making the experience worthwhile. I was given tasks that would be seen and used by clients and was able to expand on the knowledge and skills I already had.

What I wish was different

I overall loved my experience with Booz and wouldn't have changed anything

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions, but put in the effort to see if you can figure things out on your own first.

Management Consulting Intern

June - August 2018 • Washington, DC

What I liked

I liked working for a big government contractor and learning about all of the cool projects the firm has been part of. I also loved working downtown.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been able to select my own project instead of having one assigned to me.

Advice

Always network. There are so many incredible and accomplished men and women within the firm and it's so valuable to learn from their experiences.

Software Developer Intern

June - August 2018 • Rockville, MD

What I liked

I got to build software that was important. We rewrote the navies communication system from the ground up and it is being implemented across the entire fleet now.

What I wish was different

Not much. I loved it.

Advice

Get internships. Do projects. Don't reily on simply what gcc requires you to do. That is not good enough. Make the extra effort to show companies that you care about your profession by persueing it outside of normal school hours.

Summer Games Intern

June - August 2018 • Norfolk, VA

What I liked

It was a lot of fun, met a lot of great people. Taught myself a lot and learnt a lot of how to deal with people. Spent 10 weeks working with a team of not only developers was a wicked experience

What I wish was different

More people who were able to mentor me about game design, and who were connected with the game industry.

Advice

People who know nothing about coding literally know NOTHING about how coding works. Also, communication with such people (and even fellow developers) are incredibly important.

What I liked

Real Life experience challenging project working with other interns

Summer Games Intern

June - August 2018 • Washington, DC

What I liked

I loved working with Booz Allen this summer! It's an amazing place for college students to understand more of what a consulting firm does, and beyond that how they are spreading through to the tech field. As an intern, you have the opportunity to see all of their offices in the DC/Metro and ample opportunities to network with full time employees. The program "Summer Games" was really fun as well, and you get to meet interns from all over the country! 10/10
