Assistant Teachers and Teaching Fellows
Educator’s Ally is seeking candidates interested in entry level positions in independent day and boarding schools. These positions include, but are not limited to, Assistant Teacher and Fellows. Assistant Teachers teach across disciplines in a Lower School (Pre-K-4) or Middle School (5-8) classroom and Fellows teach a specific discipline (ex. Spanish, Chemistry) in Upper School (9-12). Other opportunities include associate level positions in Development and Admissions. Coaching and/or participation in extracurricular activities is often expected from Assistant Teachers and Fellows in addition to classroom responsibilities.
Desired experience includes volunteer teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, involvement in college admissions and/or development, and an interest in working in extracurricular areas (ie. sports, drama, community service, publications, etc.). Strong academic performance is also required. In most cases, independent schools are not restricted by regulations, and do not require candidates to have certification or to be education majors.
