Software Tester

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

SDL is seeking a software tester. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and executing software test plans and procedures.

·  Develop automated regression tests and formal acceptance tests

·  Software testing

·  Investigating defects and managing their associated tracking tickets

·  Help create corrective action plans

·  Participate on software development teams as a test representative, supporting the development and modification of tests exercising new and changing features

·  Continually evaluate and help refine internal and customer requirements

·  Develop test strategies to meet the release schedules for multiple projects

·  Assist in directing several student employees throughout the test and independent validation and verification process

·   Keeping sensitive information strictly confidential

·  BS in computer science, engineering, or related field OR five years of equivalent experience

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills

·  Ability to work independently and with team members

·  Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance

·  Must be able to travel

·  Previous experience in software testing or programing

·  Working knowledge of MS Windows and UNIX or Linux

·  Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration product

·  Skill with one or more of the following:

C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, HTML5, CSS, Node.js, Apache, Git, Confluence, Jira, VMware/VirtualBox, Wireshark, Protractor, Selenium, Zephyr, and/or MySQL
