Data Analysis Intern, Finance & Strategy- Summer 2020

Note: Rising seniors and juniors are preferred, but qualified rising sophomores may be considered. Permanent US work authorized candidates are preferred, but students with CPT will be considered. OVERVIEW
If you are an undergraduate student with an interest in computer science or data analysis, and an interest in spending the summer learning about and discovering the inner-workings of an industrial manufacturing plant, this experience is for you.
 
ASR Group seeks Financial and Operational Summer Intern Analysts to assist the company’s Finance & Strategy team in the analysis, development and execution of predictive analytics solutions for the company’s maintenance and monitoring of its critical assets, machinery, and equipment. Specifically, ASR Group seeks individuals who are interested in analysing large data sets of maintenance data to research, uncover and build solutions for real world practical applications, including (a) forward-indicators for equipment failure and (b) forward-indicators for capital investment and equipment replacement, among others.
 
The internship will be from June to August. Interns may live in New York City or surrounding area for the summer and commute by public transit or car to one of our key North American refining facilities on the Hudson River, just north of New York City.
 
Experience or familiarity with the following will be considered a plus:
  • Python
  • Python frameworks
  • Databases
  • Machine learning
  • PowerBI and other data visualization softwares
 
WORK EXPERIENCES
  • Minimum years of work experience: 0 to 1
 
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • You must be eligible to work in the country in which the internship is offered.
  • Have a strong academic record (minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA or equivalent). 
  • You must be entering your junior or senior year in college or seeking an advanced degree (Master’s, MBA) and have completed some course work toward your chosen field of study (Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Machine Learning or other relevant field). Sophomores shall be considered on an exceptional basis. 
  • You must be at least 18 years old. 
  • You must be able to work a minimum of six (6) consecutive weeks during the time when the internship is offered. 
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to write clearly and accurately, and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work or relevant project experience also welcome.

  • As part of the hiring process, you must successfully complete a background investigation, reference check, and pre-placement drug screen.
