The Jewett Center for Community Partnerships is looking for Van Drivers to transport students to and from volunteer programs. Van drivers are essential to community engagement since many of our programs would not be able to operate without them.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drive a seven or eight passenger vehicle to transport Wesleyan students to and from volunteer programs via the use of Wesleyan vehicles;
  • Keep logs of rides and attendees;
  • and report maintenance needs to JCCP staff

Qualifications:
  • All van drivers must be at least 20 years old and have a minimum of 2 years driving experience;
  • Need to get certified at Transportation Department.
 
Estimated Schedule: Van drivers sign up for shifts they can accommodate into their schedules. Our vans run all day Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends for special events.

Estimated Time Commitment: Drivers average 3-5 hours a week. You could do more or less than that, however. Drivers also sometimes pick up shifts when other drivers call out or are unavailable.

**This is a paid position for any student (work-study allotment or not).

The Jewett Center for Community Partnerships (JCCP) is the home of community engagement at Wesleyan University. Guided by the principles of mutual respect and collective responsibility, the JCCP focuses on developing and maintaining local partnerships with schools, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and the community at large through the Office of Community Service and Volunteerism, the Center for Prison Education, and WESU 88.1FM. Students in this position would be furthering our mission, gathering data on our programs and initiatives, and assisting with our general operation.
