City Council Campaign Intern - Fall, Winter Spring 2020-2021

ABOUT STU SHERMAN
Stu Sherman is running for New York City Council in Brooklyn. City Council is an influential post in America’s largest city, helping to drive policy around housing, environment, criminal justice, transportation, and health care. Stu is running in the democratic primary, which will be held in June 2021.

Stu is a legal aid attorney and has a background in public health. He recognizes the unique challenges facing New York City, the current epicenter of a worldwide pandemic. He believes that in order to stop the spread of COVID-19, the city needs to address the underlying inequities that have caused the most vulnerable communities to be the hardest hit. The pillars of his campaign are affordable housing, health care for all, and a greener New York. JOB DESCRIPTION 
Interns will assist with:

·      Updating and maintaining digital presence including: Web presence, social media, and content
·      Voter outreach including: Phone banking, constituent outreach, voter data management
·      Counsel and community organizing including: Policy analysis, Development, Working with press contacts
·      Staffing community events including virtual events
·      Fundraising: Assistance with campaign planning and execution
 
  • Hours: 5-15 hrs per week. Flexible schedule
  • Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. 
  • Duration: We expect a minimum 2-3 month commitment, with interns eligible to stay on through the campaign which ends November 2021
