Self-Evident Media Internship

- 5-10 hours a week (starting ASAP and ending with the semester)
- $500 stipend

OVERVIEW: Self-Evident Media (https://www.selfevidentmedia.com/) is building narrative based multimedia resources that will encourage educators, students, and communities to think critically about the role of race and institutional racism throughout United States history. By knowing and understanding the history of race in America, students will more fully understand who we are as a country and how to imagine and build a just future.

AN EXAMPLE: This is an example of one of our episodes: "One Minute's Freedom". Below in the "Potential Work" section there are some links to some of the curriculum we are creating to support the episodes.

POTENTIAL WORK: (Actual work plan will be based on the needs of Self-Evident and what the skills and interests of the INTERN are—the exact scope of work will be agreed upon between Michael Lawrence-Riddell, Executive Director of Self-Evident Media and the INTERN)
· Research
o Visual: using a template like this or this, you will collect and organize (using DropBox) visual and archival imagery to help tell particular stories
o Factual: using a template, to be created, you will research and collect information that will be used to tell particular stories
· Curriculum proofreading and layout (This would require familiarity with Adobe InDesign or willingness to learn some basics of InDesign)—You would take a draft document in Google Docs format (like this) and use a template created in InDesign to layout a document (like this)
· Administrative Work: help with website updates, facilitating scheduling, newsletter and social media updates, proofreading externally facing documents, contacting press, contacting potential artists or scholars for our episodes, attending meetings and taking notes, etc.
