Role
The Props Manager oversees the props inventory and the maintenance of the Theater Department props collection in the ’92 Theater, CFA Theater, and annex locations and will take a lead-roll in procuring, preparing, building, and advising the props team for Theater Department shows. The Props Manager is a hands on position and will work in the CFA Theater Scene Shop and Theater and will be expected to use hand and power tools, lift up to 50#, climb ladders and organize equipment.

Supervisor
The Props Manager will report to the CFA Theater Manager and will be overseen by the Assistant Technical Director, Scenery Specialist, and Technical Associate.

Responsibilities will include the following.
-Schedule and attend props appointments with students, staff, and faculty during office hours
-Manage Inventory and maintenance of props
-Oversee check in/check out process
-Process student billing for damage or loss of props in coordination with Admin. Assistant
-Communicate borrowing contract to borrowers 
-Maintain the prop stock database through Stagestock
- Train props assistants
-Train borrowers on the safe use of the props
-Train borrowers and adhere to all safety protocols for prop weapons  
-Communicate/coordinate with Second Stage Props Manager
-Craft, design, and build props as needed
-Communicate damage and repair needs promptly
-Advise student prop masters

Qualifications
Props Manager 1 will have at least 1 semester working as a CFA Theater Technician, specializing as a props assistant. Props Manager 1 pay rate is $15.00 per hour. Props Manager 2 will have at least 2 years of experience and will take on the hiring and training of assistants and managers in training in addition to the above responsibilities. The pay rate for Props Manager 2 is $16.00 per hour.

Performance Evaluation
Evaluations will be based on weekly check in meetings and an end of the semester review with the supervisor.

Schedule and Availability
Availability should include at least two regularly scheduled shifts for 1.5 hours for two days weekly between 1-5pm, Monday - Friday, and additional hours by appointment with students, staff, and faculty. Typical weekly hour commitment is 8-10 hours.
