Back Bay is a life sciences-focused strategic and financial advisory firm providing strategic consulting, business development and strategic transaction advisory services to an international clientele of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics companies.
Back Bay’s strategic consulting team provides commercial and R&D support and business development planning and execution services. The firm’s transaction advisory practice focuses on structuring, negotiating and executing mergers & acquisitions, partnership and other corporate transactions. Securities-related services are provided through our wholly-owned broker/dealer subsidiary.

Role within Back Bay – Consulting
We are looking for interns to join our strategy consulting team to function as full-time Analysts would. As part of a project team, interns gather data from a range of sources (e.g. literature, databases), conduct interviews with key stakeholders, and analyze data required to address the issues across all stages of projects. Interns also play an essential role in preparation of client reports and client interactions.
Candidate qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree in life sciences, finance coursework a plus
· Preference for Junior applicants (Class of 2022) but exceptional Sophomores will be considered
· Experience with Excel and PowerPoint
· Excellent writing and presentation skills
· Candidates should possess the ability to function efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Role within Back Bay – M&A
We are looking for interns to join our transaction advisory team. This person will be a member of a growing M&A advisory practice and will be involved in conducting and coordinating primary research, financial modeling and valuation analytics, creating internal and external descriptive materials, building detailed target lists, interacting with prospective clients and transactional counterparties, assisting the group’s new business efforts, and general support of all aspects of transactional client projects.
Candidate qualifications:
· Prior experience in or knowledge of the life sciences field strongly preferred
· Preference for Junior applicants (Class of 2022) but exceptional Sophomores will be considered
· Highly motivated with excellent analytical and oral/written communication skills
· Understanding of key concepts underlying commercial forecasting, corporate finance and transactional analysis
· Candidates should possess the ability to function efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
