Consulting Analyst - Los Angeles (Pasadena) Office

As a Consulting Analyst at Farient Advisors, you will develop knowledge of business strategy, financial performance, and executive compensation across a wide variety of industries. You will gain valuable consulting experience working closely with our lead consultants and clients. Your primary responsibilities will include researching and analyzing data, drawing meaningful conclusions from your findings, assisting in the development of recommendations, and writing client presentations. 

Typical analyses include: selecting peer groups, developing competitive compensation benchmarks for corporate executives and board directors, reviewing and testing pay program designs relative to market, analyzing the linkage of financial performance with the client's business strategy, analyzing the impact of performance measures on shareholder value, competitively evaluating goal-setting practices, and evaluating the relationship of pay to performance in incentive plans. Additionally, Consulting Analysts support our marketing efforts and intellectual capital development through research and analysis. This includes creating methodologies, and developing tools, templates and analytical models that are critical to our work.

Education/ Experience/ Technical Skills: Candidates are required to have completed their Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, finance, business, or other related fields Minimum experience of 0 - 1+ year in a related field (e.g., consulting, financial services, human resources). December graduates welcome to apply. In addition, a qualified candidate will have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with corporate finance, business strategy, and basic corporate accounting concepts Strong quantitative skills, including analysis of large data sets, and facility with relatively sophisticated mathematical and statistical concepts and models Strong work ethic with high standards of quality Strong presentation skills Ability to work well in teams Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage client delivery schedules and work in process Intellectual curiosity and motivation to advance in our Firm Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint Working knowledge of compensation benchmarking and pay program design preferred.
