Office of Advancement - Social Media Intern

The Office of Advancement is currently seeking a creative, self-driven, and detail orientated individual to work as a social media intern to work directly with the social media specialist to create content and contribute to the Wesleyan University Alumni social media channels and alumni/giving web pages.

Social media intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in curating content for Wesleyan University social media channels and web pages
  • Collaborate with departments across the university to promote events and share their content
  • Assist in designing graphics for social media, website pages, and potentially for email marketing
  • Monitor social accounts for mentions and engagement
  • General editorial assistance

What you’ll receive:
  • Experience working alongside a dynamic operations teams
  • Creative experience in curating social media and web content from scratch
  • Experience in assisting social media professionals create and execute a digital media campaign
  • Ability to create connections across the Wesleyan community
  • Ability to build a social media portfolio

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with applications such as Microsoft office (specifically word and excel – or Google equivalents), Canva (or equivalent) and social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and efficient working remotely.
  • Strong grammatical and creative writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Creative writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premier, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop is a plus
