MeshEd Collective Summer Intern

About MeshEd Collective + Action Labs | Mesh Ed - an enrichment education public benefit corporation (PBC) working in partnership with schools, cultural institutions, and nonprofits - is committed to designing and launching the highest-quality enrichment courses that prepare students for the next stage in their education journey and for the future of innovative work. We define enrichment as rigorous, collaborative out-of-school courses that can also be adapted to “snap into” a school’s core curriculum that develop students’ character, creativity, applied learning skills, curiosity, ability to solve problems in teams, and intrinsic motivation to achieve wider goals.
All of our MeshEd “Action Lab” courses are designed for hybrid learning, accessible to remote and in-person learners, and are currently based in the heart of Dumbo, Brooklyn. Action labs foster collaboration and design thinking, culminating in digital portfolio projects that showcase students’ personal passions and community engagement that simultaneously support digital college application readiness. Previous projects have ranged from podcasts to interactive blog postings to short-form videos of how to reinvent and recycle your own clothing— all supported by a committed instructional team of experienced educators, student teachers, and celebrated guest experts in each of the fields of our labs. Our foundational framework is High-Quality Project-Based Learning that integrates socio-emotional learning (CASEL), culturally-responsive teaching (CRT), digital technology (ISTE), and the UN Sustainable Development goals. We encourage social entrepreneurship at every stage of the project-based learning cycle. Our MeshEd action labs prepare students to have robust digital portfolios of their projects ready to attach to the leading online high school and college digital applications.
