Research Assistant Position

Project: Political Economy of Development in Mozambique
Principal Investigators: Lindsay Dolan (Wesleyan), Jonathan Mellon (Manchester), and Tiago Peixoto (World Bank)

I am in need of a research assistant to help review the literature, conduct background research, and prepare a survey instrument.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
·        We are interested in examining aid, accountability, legitimacy, conflict, and/or state capacity in Mozambique. We will be fielding a mobile phone survey in February 2022.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
·        The RA will be asked to:
o  Prepare literature reviews to help narrow down a research question.
o  Conduct background research on Mozambique.
o  Help draft a survey instrument.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
·        RA must be able to write an effective literature review.
·        RA must have taken GOVT 327 Experiments in International Development.

PAY AND HOURLY COMMITMENT:
·        The position pays $15/hour.
·        RA is expected to work 3-5 hours a week (potentially more) during December and January. RA must be willing to work over winter break.
·        This phase of the project will conclude when the survey is fielded in February 2022. It is possible there will be an additional opportunity to participate in the analysis in May/June 2022.
