Financial Planning Internship

Our team is growing! We are seeking a rising sophomore or rising junior (May 2024 or May 2025 graduation) intern who attends school in the Greater Hartford region and can commit to continue working onsite part-time 1-2 days a week in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, with potential to work full-time during the Summer of 2023.

More About the Position
We seek a rising sophomore or rising junior (May 2024 or May 2025 graduation) who attends college in the Greater Hartford region and can commit to continue working onsite part-time 1-2 days a week in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, with potential to work full-time during the Summer of 2023. Minimum 3.2 GPA and high proficiency with Excel are required.  Math, Finance, Economics, Science, Engineering, and Business majors preferred.

We work as a team so being present in the office is essential to facilitate training, build relationships, and to support clients who visit and/or attend on-site meetings. We offer a comfortable, professional, work environment in our brand-new custom-built office in Glastonbury Center.
 
You will assist our firm’s Sr. Investment and Financial Planning Analysts in many aspects of financial planning. The benefit of working for a small company is that our internship is more informal than a corporate environment, and your projects will provide broad exposure to various topics associated with financial planning including Retirement Planning, Investments, Insurance, Taxes, and Estate planning. You’ll also experience client interactions to determine if becoming a financial advisor may be a fit for your future. Responsibilities include:
·      Generate Morningstar reports analyzing client’s portfolios and create accompanying letters providing a summary
·      Use financial analysis tools to assess risk in portfolios
·      Assist Investment Analysts with maintaining model presentations and reports
·      Conduct research on various investment products
·      Analyze prospect/client financial records to assist in creation of investment reports
·      Join advisors in client meetings, take notes on client’s financial planning needs, update client database and create follow-up letters
·      Other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned
