WesLink Virtual Alumni Networking Program

IF SELECTED, THE RESUME YOU SUBMIT MAY BE SHARED WITH THE ALUMNI YOU ARE LINKED TO!

Connect with alumni and parents virtually during winter break in January for individual career conversations through the Gordon Career Center's annual WesLink program. Apply now to gain first-hand insight into various industries, positions, and organizations from alumni who've been in your shoes. Learn how alumni leverage their Wesleyan education, explore a wide breadth of career options, practice your professional communication skills, and develop meaningful relationships to help guide your career development and decision-making.

Selected students will work directly with alumni to schedule a one-hour phone or video call at a mutually convenient time between January 6 and January 20, 2025. WesLink is open to students of all class years and majors, with no prior knowledge or experience required.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Friday, November 22 at 11:59pm

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
To be considered, submit your approved* resume to this WesLink job posting on Handshake AND complete the Microsoft application form, selecting at least 3 alumni you're interested in connecting with before the 11:59pm deadline on Friday, November 22. Click here to learn about participating alumni.

SELECTION & PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS:
As part of your application, you’ll be asked to select at least 3 alumni (and up to 10) you’d like to meet. This ensures fairness in the matching process and gives you the best chance of connecting with someone aligned with your interests. Applications with fewer than 3 selections will not be considered.

While we’ll do our best to match you with at least one of your preferred alumni, please note that matches are not guaranteed. The true value of WesLink lies not just in who you meet but in the experience of practicing networking, building new connections, exploring career paths, and learning how to talk about yourself.

If accepted, you are expected to follow through on all scheduled meetings—regardless of who you are matched with. Every conversation offers a chance to grow personally and professionally, so approach each meeting with curiosity and an open mind!

QUESTIONS?
Stop by the GCC in Boger Hall, email careercenter@wesleyan.edu, or schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor.

*RESUME APPROVAL

You must have your resume approved on Handshake by the Gordon Career Center in order to apply for WesLink. The resume review and approval process can take several business days, so getting a head start is best if your resume has not yet been approved. Refer to the GCC's resume review process and resources in the resources section on Handshake and schedule an appointment to work on refining your resume with a Peer Career Advisor.
